To give an overview of arrangements at the end of KS1 and the impact which these have on teaching and learning in KS2.
To develop good transition practice between key stages.
To become familiar with the National Exemplification materials currently available, including APP materials.

The course will encourage Y3 teachers to work together with Y2;

• to fulfil statutory assessment arrangements at the end of KS1 2009
• to analyse the effectiveness of systems and procedures in place in school and
• to use the outcomes of assessment to improve learning and teaching in order to raise standards.
