  • To understand the practitioner role in gathering and sharing information for the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile as an integral part of their everyday practice.
  • To understand the process of moderation.

Course Details:

This course is an updated version of a course run previously and is of interest to practitioners new to profiling. Practitioners experienced at profiling will have other opportunities to become familiar with the new materials at moderation meetings and Early Years Foundation Stage Co-ordinator meetings.

The course is designed to develop practitioner's understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile within the classroom.

Through observation and discussion practitioners will focus on the skills of effective assessment.

The new Early Years Foundation Stage Profile handbook will be used alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage framework to enhance practitioner knowledge of observational assessment and profiling.

Practitioners will view video clips and work in small groups supported, as necessary, by the course tutors.
